North Carolina End Of Grade Test Questions (According to a Car Full Of Fourth Graders)

As we prepare for testing, I am reminded of the last test and the questions that poured from the mouths of an assortment of fourth graders in my art carpool. I find them to be bizarre at best and not true at worst. Decide for yourself...

Dark chocolate is good for you but don't have too much because then it won't lower your blood pressure.

Tea is good for teeth because keeps them from getting holes and keeping them healthy, thousands of people in the world drink tea.

Wild salmon makes you live longer.

Oats are good when purchased from the grocery store.

Cake and ice cream are not good for you, instead have yogurt with a bit of honey.

If you eat too many walnuts, it's not good for you because you'll get overweight.

Turkey is good just by itself; you don't need bread.

You can not make this stuff up. This is it people; prepping your children for life so they will be "globally competitive." Do you think reading passages such as this will ensure this?
