Your Call

Your Call

It's your call. Will you choose pancake making for little girls with mussed up hair and gap toothed smiles or dry cereal?

It's your call. Will you choose tackling the kitchen still a mess from last night or pushing plates and bowls out of the way to make brownies?

It's your call. Will you choose those baskets of laundry glaring at you or will you offer clean blankets for making a ginormous fort?

It's your call. Will you rush and go and stick to plans or will you build a fire and cuddle a boy and his blankie?

It's your call. Will you spend the day hemming and hawing and dreaming of time alone or concede defeat to little people that clamor to fill your physical and emotional space?

It's your call. Will you nag your spouse and perfectly attack the ever present to do list or will you rest by the warm embers and confide of the details that make up real life?

It's your call. Will you rush to take a quick shower or happily agree to a bubble bath filled with wriggly children and sinking pirate ships?

It's your call. Will you bundle up and brave the cold or hide in your bed and ignore people ready to embrace the day?

It's your call. Will you sweep and mop or smile as you pick up pieces of discarded pop tart and tiptoe through the crumbs?

It's your call. Will you will you chide and complain and lament your freedom or relinquish stress, laugh and embrace the chaos?

It's your call. Perhaps a bit of both?

This hit home with me. I've hidden more than I should in the last 7 months, some days just to survive. But thank you for reminding me that I need people more than I realize. xoxo
